Mrs. Kelly LaRouche
Owner & Director
Mrs. Kelly LaRouche is the owner and director of Discover Preschool, leading classes for 2-, 3-, and 4-year-olds. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. After teaching three years in Indianapolis Public Schools, Kelly found her passion in preschool education, where she’s thrived for years. Her most unique experience was teaching at an international school in Dongguan, China, for four years, living there with her husband due to his job. Now settled in White Lake with her husband, two children, and two dogs, Kelly brings global insights and dedication to nurturing young learners.
Mrs. Lisa West
Assistant Teacher
Mrs. Lisa West serves as the Assistant Teacher for Discover Preschool’s Fantastic Fours class. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University and has taught across various school settings, from preschool through high school. Lisa spent six years teaching 3rd and 4th graders at Community Bible Study’s homeschool program, sharpening her skills with young learners. She also embraced homeschooling her own children for two years. Living in Commerce with her husband and three children, Lisa combines her diverse teaching background with a passion for fostering growth, making her a vital part of Discover’s nurturing environment.
Mrs. Jillian Boren
Assistant Teacher
Mrs. Jillian Boren is the Assistant Teacher for Discover Preschool’s Thrilling Threes class and Twos class. She graduated from Baker College with a degree in Human Resources and later found her calling in early education. Jillian spent several years as an Assistant Teacher at Kindercare, working with young 4-year-olds, where she honed her skills in classroom support. Now living in Waterford with her husband, three children, and two dogs, she brings patience and enthusiasm to her role. Jillian’s experience with preschoolers and her warm, family-oriented approach make her a perfect fit for guiding Discover’s 3-year-olds through their exciting early learning journey.

Discover Preschool has been an incredible experience. Our oldest just finished the thrilling threes class and we have all good things to say. The class was hands on, play based, with multiple new age appropriate engaging activities each class. The teachers were absolutely amazing. We had always had our child in our home so we were nervous to send him off, by the second class I had zero worries. He was in loving hands and it showed. They kept us informed on everything. Daily photos, class schedules, opportunities for families to be involved in the classroom. So glad we found discover and that this is the start of our educational journey.
Discover Preschool has been such a great experience for my kids. My oldest attended for both the 3's and 4's program. He was extremely well prepared when the time came for him to attend Kindergarten. My middle son loves the 2's class and can't wait to go to school this fall just like his brother did. Kelly and the teachers are wonderful with all the kids and it is very easy to tell that they love what they do. They go above and beyond to create a fantastic preschool!
Discover Preschool is the BEST! We were looking for a preschool where the teachers truly got to know and care about each of their students and found that at Discover. The teachers are patient, kind, and go above and beyond for their students and families. We love the interactive, fun, and unique ways they get students engaged in their learning. We also love all of the family events that are planned throughout the year. Discover is a clean, bright, fun environment for students to grow and learn. We highly recommend!
Discover Preschool is unlike any other...It is truly a unique place where the teachers go above and beyond to make it the BEST experience for your child. The teachers show so much love and empathy for the kiddos while cultivating a fun and exciting hands-on learning curriculum with plenty of outdoor adventures. It has been an absolute wonderful experience. I cannot say enough good things! I've had two kids go through the 3's and 4's programs at Discover and I have one more that will start in a few years. I would do it again a million times over! In fact, my 2 older kids that have graduated preschool beg to go back:)
Discover Preschool is amazing! We sent our son there for the 3 year old preschool program and loved it so much that we returned for 4 year old preschool the following year. Mrs. LaRouche and her team of caring, committed and loving teachers are the best! They give so much thought and attention to make sure their students have the most fun possible while learning. They are extremely communicative and are great at involving parents and families into the preschool experience. I can’t say enough great things about them, I only wish we could stay longer!
If you’re looking for a loving, high-quality early education for your little one, I can’t recommend Discover Preschool enough! We’ve had the joy of sending all three of our girls there over the past six years, and as we say goodbye, I know we will miss it tremendously.
The teachers at Discover have created such a warm, nurturing environment where kids truly thrive. When Covid hit, I was so grateful for the foundation they had given my children—it put them ahead and set them up for success in the years that followed.

Both my youngest daughter and son attended (or still do attend) Discover Preschool. From our start in 2020 to now 2025 we have been nothing but in LOVE with both the curriculum and the staff / owners. From the individual care of each student to the fun and exciting way things are introduced / taught is nothing less than impressive. I leave every day feeling my kids are safe and secure in their hands all while having fun! My son entered elementary school ready to take on the year and new challenges. His learning foundation was truly set by the gals at Discover Preschool. Thank you!
My grandson began with Discover in their two year program. He is now attending their threes program. I have been so impressed with the program, the fabulous center with a myriad of endless toys and centers to stimulate learning, along with the amazing staff who are patient beyond words. Many of the children in the threes program are relatively young having birthdays in September, yet the Staff has done wonders working with them and their families to help the children grow and gain confidence.
I cannot recommend the center and their staff enough. Kudos all around!
